Pledgeship is an eight week educational period for new members of the Fraternity chapter. It is a period of growth when pledges learn the values and ideals of Sigma Chi. This will be accomplished by giving them the opportunity to examine themselves and their relationships, helping them to live the values and ideals the Fraternity holds in high regard. Pledgeship stresses a high degree of honor, personal responsibility, and brotherhood, using the Jordan Standard as a foundation from which to build upon. In short, pledgeship serves to prepare the brothers-to-be for a fulfilling and meaningful experience as an active member of Sigma Chi.

Pledges will have the opportunity to learn more about themselves and how they relate, communicate, and interact with other people. They will also have the chance to develop their leadership abilities through holding positions and organizing events. This development serves to create excellent brothers of Sigma Chi, but more importantly, excellent men and citizens of the world.

Sigma Chi and the Lambda Gamma Chapter are dedicated to preserving the positive and personally enriching experience of pledgeship and active membership in Sigma Chi. For this reason, we have an absolute Zero-Tolerance policy on hazing of any kind.
